Types of Superhero Fans pt. II
STOP reading if you haven’t read part I. Thanks loves.
Avid Readers: These are considered by many the most “honorable” type of superhero fans. They pay homage to the history of superheroes by reading, reading, and then reading some more. Similar to T.V. show fans, these guys know a sh#t ton about superheroes. They can site events and battles if they want to prove a point or express themselves and their love for certain heroes. These guys may not be as informed as the Wikipedia Whores when it comes to specifics, but they sure are well-rounded. Here’s some sub-types:
• Comic Book Collectors/Readers: You’ll often see these guys in little comic book shops, picking and choosing some awesome comics according to their preference. They love reading, love keeping each comic as a trophy, and are super proud of their collection. They usually have at least 5 bins full of comics.
• Graphic Novel Collectors/Readers: Very similar to the comic book collectors, only they are usually more inclined to order their graphic novels as opposed to going to little shops. They also prefer hard-copy although it’s a tad bit more expensive.
• Digital Comic Readers: Pretty new type of fan. They subscribe for online comics that they can read anywhere and everywhere. They are exposed to a VAST selection of comics and are rarely the “collecting” type.
-Superhero Fan by Proxy: They don’t read comics. They don’t watch superhero t.v. shows. They don’t collect toys and aren’t interested enough about superheroes to wikipedia them. So why the f#%k did one of them out-superhero you? They are either relatives or very close friends with superhero nerds and subconsciously absorbed A LOT of useless information.
Hmm…that’s about it…part III will be a display of common combinations of types. Stay tuned.-Dogpool
