Congrats on the 1500 followers, i've been following since like 300 i believe lol. i also run a comic book blog but i'm not as good as a writer and a terrible speller. hope you do some great things with the blog, peace.
Yes I know you. :p…thanks and I hope I do great things to.
Idk…I usually stop reading shitty comics after a few pages. The Fear Itself arc was pretty lame though. I had high hopes and nothing really happened. -___-…people died and then got resurrected so the world didn’t change at all. Idk, it wasn’t good.
Haven’t read them. Crucify me >.<… I can’t read any “new” comics. The newest comics I’ve read were the Fear Itself comics. I live in bumblefuck Idaho at the moment and have no comic stores nearby. So I’m limited to my Marvel’s Digital Comics which take a while to process newer comics. I’M SO FUCKING WORTHLESS.
Dude, you're awesome, you have great opinions on superheroes and villains and all that jazz and you're just perfect, your lady is lucky to have you! I just wanna know, however, how did you first get into the whole superhero scene?
Hahahah not at all, I’m lucky to have her ^.^… okokok so there I was, little Steven, big world (the best way to start a story). I was like 9 and was wandering around my house. I stumbled into my dad’s closet and BAM! F#cking comics everywhere. I picked up Alex Ross’s Kingdom Come and my 9yr old brain was like DURRRR. 3 years later, I picked up The Darkness, and I re-read Kingdom Come. I was forever addicted from then-on. Superheroes to me are much more than just a bunch of dudes running around in colorful costumes. To me they were always an exaggeration of the truth. Power, weaknesses, double-lives. We all have these things. There is so much truth in pages of a comic book. You can never read the same comic twice, you always find new shit to ponder and relate to. Love it.
Did you ever see the Green Lantern film? What did you think of it? A lot of people think it tried the "Marvel" movie approach, and fell flat because of it. In that line of thinking, do you think non-Batman characters with DC have a shot of proper film treatment, and how do you think they would achieve this? (sorry for the, well, onslaught of questions)
I avoided the Green Lantern film, it smelled of feces. I’m looking forward to the new Superman movie. With Superman, it’s all about the bad guy. Superman as a character (morally righteous and unshakable) is NOT enough to carry a film. That’s why the last one sucked so much. Lex Luthor was not properly portrayed. The Flash would definitely make a neat film and they could do a lot with it. The Watchmen was solid in my opinion. I wanna see a solid Wonder Woman too. Hmm…idk, they have a lot to work with. I mean, Batman is their superstar. I could think of A LOT of Marvel superstars which makes it lob sided I guess. DC is all about the bad guys. Fuck that up, and you have a shitty movie.
congrats on 1500 followers. Also, I think I fail at tumbling because I have exactly three followers. Do I at least get a participation prize? xD Or do you have any advice? Should I just not care and keep on trekking?
I say, keep trekking. Caring ruins the purpose. I’m actually pretty honored to be one of your 3 followers ^.^
Congrats on getting 1500 followers! I don't know what number I am among them, but I'm glad I clicked that button. I love reading the posts you make about super heros, both the ones from comics and the ones we see every day in the real world. Your writing is insightful and well thought out. Can't wait to see what you post in the future. Keep being awesome!
I think you were number 459. Thanks so much! As for being awesome, I was actually thinking about selling out and becoming a Loki blog, so…
I finally made it to your ask box. That only took a couple of weeks. Question, even though you probably have answered this already: What was your first comic book? And what is one rare/limited edition you wished you owned? Favourite Comic Arc? (also, thanks for following. my particular brand of crazy is so an acquired taste!)
MY first comic book? Jesus that’s a good question…uhh f#ck f#ck f#ck…uhh Justice? Yeah…DC’s Justice written by Alex Ross and uhh Jim Krueger? I wish I owned the first X-Men, that sh#t was great. My favorite comic arc was the first like 30 Darkness comics ever created. Loved it. Thanks for the awesome questions ^.^
1st, congrats on the milestone. 2nd, WHY THE DEUCE IS SPIDER-MAN/GREEN GOBLIN OR DOCTOR OCTOPUS not on that Top 5 list? OR EVEN BETTER: KINGPIN VERSUS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE!!! That fat fuck is always fucking up people's lives! LOL
Thanks. AND PROBABLY BECAUSE I’M A FUCKING TERRIBLE SUPERHERO FAN. Lol, I love Green Goblin/Spidey, they should of been on the list to be honest. Doctor Octopus, I’m not too sure about that. And Kingpin is another good one. But I was really feeling those Top 5, and Top 6 lists get weird for everyone…
Hey, Dogpool, what are your thoughts on Captain America? :)
I would say he’s one of those “necessary” heroes. He’s a symbol of America. He’s a great leader. He’s also painfully generic. I’m amazed by those who fancy him over everyone else…I don’t see it. Unless they’re all like “AMERICUHHHH.” And by necessary, I mean I need him. I need the Hulk too, he’s another dude who I don’t completely love, but his chaos is “necessary” and can be strategically implemented in a story to make it awesome. So yeah there’s the dudes I love, and the dudes I need. I need Cap, just thinks he’s meh.
CONGRATULATIONS ON 1500 FOLLOWERS! That was really fast! I remember you followed me back when I followed you. Do you still do that? Because following 1500 people must be exhausting D:
Yesss I believe you were “Girl With Claws” back then? (If you weren’t then kill me). And uhm, I only follow back if you’re not a porno blog or if you’re not boring :p…it is slightly exhausting though. And thanks!
